Gregory Young submitted the following question to AskMissyWard.com:

“I have had success promoting affiliate products with niche sites, but I know I am leaving money on the table because I am not building a “list” as well. As Queen of the Affiliate Scene, I was hoping you could point me in the direction of a simple yet thorough guide on building and marketing to an email list.

Well Gregory, I couldn’t locate a guide that encompassed everything that you needed to know to get started, so I put together the following video presentation for you.

In the video, I discuss the reasons you should be building a list and marketing to it; list management and deployment technologies available and strategies to build up your numbers in your database.

I hope you (and the others who may watch it), find it helpful.

For the advanced, Thesis has incredible customization possibilities via extensive hooks and filters. And with so many design options, you can use the template over and over and never have it look like the same site.

Hey Missy Ward, thanks for going over the basics, I'm sure their are many people that need this information as my own list has indicated this to me.

I also think a lot of people are unclear about what is considered spam… so it's good that you included that.
I believe the most important aspect of getting people on your list is to provide something that there is a demand for as well as of high quality.
Here's a great tip, use video on all of your opt in/squeeze pages – this gets lots more attention and is a good way to build up trust fast.

Thanks again for the great video,

J Bode
