Look Who’s Walking With Me During My 39-Mile Avon Walk to Fight Breast Cancer!

by MissyWard

It’s a little over 2 weeks before me and the rest of my team representing “Affiliate Marketers Give Back” head out to Chicago to take on the 39-Mile Avon Walk for Breast Cancer on June 5-6.

As of today, we have raised over $56,000. We have passed our $50,000 goal that we sent for ourselves and we have already beat last year’s total which was $53,000. I am so proud of my team and honored to be walking with each and every one of them. (You can find out more about each of the team members by visiting http://en.wordpress.com/tag/2010-walk/ or checking them out on the AffiliateMarketersGiveBack.com home page.

In addition to my fabulous teammates, I wanted to share with you some information about the other folks who I will be spending two amazing days with during the walk.

Here are some statistics about our 2010 Chicago Walkers:

  • We come to Chicago from 45 states, St. Croix, USVI, and Denmark.
  • We range in age from 16 to 75. The majority of us were born in the 1970s (32 percent).
  • There are 261 male Walkers – 71 more than in last year’s Chicago Walk.
  • More than 28 percent of us walked in the Avon Walk in 2009!
  • During the Walk Weekend, 18 walkers will celebrate a birthday! There are 7 Walkers who were born on June 5 and 11 Walkers who were born on June 6.
  • Jennifer is the most popular name on the Walk this year; we have 92 Jennifer’s participating! Lisa, Mary, and Karen are close behind, though! Johnson is the most common last name.
  • We have 398 teams, and the largest team has more than 56 participants!
  • The top fundraising team has raised over $85,000! (Affiliate Marketers Give Back is in 5th place right now, but we’re scrambling!
  • Our top fundraiser in Chicago has raised over 26,000! (I am in the #2 position at $18,000+ and shooting for that #1 position. I’ve gotta watch out for Suze Orman, a late entry and catching up very quickly!)

  • And… We have more than 250 breast cancer survivors participating alongside thousands of walkers, walking 39.3 over the weekend because we are In It To End It in 2010!

As we all com together to support the fight against breast cancer, please consider making a donation to my fundraising account at http://www.iwalkforboobies.com or visiting our fundraising auction and bidding on an item of your choosing.

Thank you again for all of your support and please follow us along on AffiliateMarketersGiveBack.com and Twitter.com/AMGB during the walk for updates!
