Missy Ward

I’m a mother, daughter, sister, wife, niece, aunt, cousin, friend, marketer, beach-chick and die-hard AC/DC fan.  I’m also an active fundraiser for charities that support breast cancer research, treatments and community programs.

I blog about affiliate marketing, social media, events I attend, things I love and occasionally about stuff that has no other relevance other than it tickles my fancy.

I’m the Co-Founder of Affiliate Summit, FeedFront Magazine, GeekCast.fm, VelocityNYC Press AffStat.com, AffiliateBuyersGuide.com ShipToTroops.com and AffiliateMarketersGiveBack.com (amongst other things). I also sit on the advisory board of Izea and A4UExpo and I’m also the co-owner of Revenews.com.

I am also a contributor and editor of the new book, Internet Marketing from the Real Experts.  The net proceeds of this book are donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. (Read more about the endeavor here.)

For the last 10+ years, I’ve helped companies grow their businesses successfully using the pay-for-performance model.  Before I worked for myself, I was Director of Public Relations for Media Breakaway LLC, Vice President of Partnership Marketing for eBound Strategies, President of Aluria Software and Vice-President of Marketing for Global Travel International.

I hate cold weather, flavored coffee and meat.

I love wine.  Lots and lots of wine.

(And in the interest of full disclosure, here’s where I tell you that I sometimes get paid for my posts or other banners that are up on this site. If you don’t trust me enough to only provide you with 100% pure, unadulterated, unfiltered, truthful content and Missy-isms, please don’t read my blog.) For those that would like to read the legal mumbo jumbo to this effect, please see my Disclosure Policy.

Hi Missy. My wife had 2 mastectomies about 11 years ago and now has some quiet stuff in her old bones so I'm always interested in other folks that want to help with cancer research. I'm trying to get a business off the ground in NC but I'm a geek type and don't know the right people with funding to actually do computer research to help with cancer research. I worked for a while with a lab in Scotland that did fluorescent microscopy and I did software for a server to send huge amounts of images across the net. Anyhow, enough geek. If you have any ideas to socialize my work, please let me know. I really would love to be writing software to help people live. I'm sort of doing that now with something related to the iPhone.

Later. P.S. I came across you on twitter. I'm dlwhitehurst there or David L Whitehurst on Google.

Hey, Melissa:

Found you via AdRants. Steve and Angela occasionally link to me. (I've linked my name to my blog here.)

As your former employee (man, that place went to hell after you left) I am now going to tell you what to do: Scale back the reflection on your logo. Let it fade more at the bottom. That is all.

Speaking of wine: my wife bought a bottle of Fat Bastard. I think she's trying to tell me something.

Missy, Brian Williams has been telling me to get to know you for a little bit. I apologize for taking so long, now I know why he wanted us to connect, smile.

You are a perfect definition of what I call a “Spirit Based Entrepreneur Making Difference & Profit”
