Any Jersey Runners/Walkers in the House?

There is an Affiliate Summit team for the 2010 Komen North Jersey Race for the Cure, and we’re looking for more team members.

The 5k run/walk is taking place Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Essex County Branch Brook Park in Newark, NJ.

You can also join the team and participate in the 1.5 Mile Fun Walk. And if you can’t make it, there is even an option to be on the team without taking a step with the “Sleep-In for the Cure” option.

If you aren’t interested in running, walking or sleeping for Team Affiliate Summit, it would mean a lot if you donated to our team (it’s tax deductible).

Please Help Me Kick Breast Cancer’s Arse

In 2007, I founded AffiliateMarketersGiveBack.com (“AMGB”) with a goal to raise money for to support Breast Cancer research, treatment, awareness and community programs through combined efforts within the Affiliate Marketing industry.

Since then, through efforts with Affiliate Summit (Affiliate Summit) and Affiliate Marketers Give Back, we have raised a combined total of $165,000 for charities such as the Avon Foundation, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and The National Breast Cancer Foundation.

On June 5-6, 2010, I will again be leading Team Affiliate Marketers Give Back as we take to the streets of Chicago for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

Internet Marketing From The Real Experts (Paperback)

I’m delighted to announce that Affiliate Summit is about to publish the first book, Internet Marketing from the Real Experts, through the Velocity NYC Press publishing imprint.

Internet Marketing from the Real Experts is a collection of articles on affiliate marketing, search engine marketing, social media and more from 88 writers in the first seven issues of FeedFront Magazine.

What has me extra excited about this book is the fact that aside from the great content contained within, the net proceeds from the sales of the book will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, a cause that both Shawn and I have been championing for quite some time.

While the official publishing date for Internet Marketing From the Real Experts is January 31, 2010, we’re working really hard to get copies of the book in time for Affiliate Summit West 2010, that starts this weekend. If everything goes as scheduled, we should have 4,000 copies to give to the first 4,000 attendees that check in at the show.

My Birthday Wish: A World With More Birthdays!

Birthday Cake On Sunday, January 10th, I will turn 43.

Am I freaked out that I’m “that old”? Yeah, a little.

But, I’m also pretty darn appreciative that I have the chance to live another year. (Because seriously, having too many candles on one’s cake really is a good problem to have.)

To celebrate this year’s birthday, I decided to declare the American Cancer Society as my official birthday cause and try to raise some money to help those that have been affected by cancer.

So, if you had any thoughts on buying me a birthday card or balloon, please don’t. Instead, why don’t you consider donating a couple of bucks on my Birthday Donation Page that I’ve set up with the American Cancer Society?

The Power of Giving: How Giving Back Enriches Us All (Review)

While at IZEAFest earlier this month, I had the great fortune to meet Azim Jamal, who along with Harvey McKinnon, authored the book “The Power of Giving: How Giving Back Enriches Us All“.

The video above is a discussion of what I do to give back, how it has enhanced my life and why I’m instilling the same values in my children. After our chat, Azim provided me with a signed copy of his book which I devoured last week and will now share my thoughts on.

The Power of Giving is a thought-provoking book filled with encouraging stories and ideas that consider the strange phenomenon of the more you give without intentionally expecting return, the more your own life will be enriched.

One of the personal philosophies I live by is to be a better “mensch” every day, so what I particularly liked about the book is that it explores different ways that people can give back without it costing money or a lot of time. Additionally, it delves into the practical benefits that one can gain by helping to cultivate someone else’s life.

This is the kind of book that after you read it, you’ll want to buy a few more to share with others — especially folks who might be caught up in the daily grind that life sometimes doles out.
