Affiliate Summit hosted a networking event at ThirstyBear during ad:tech San Francisco.

While we only had space for about 100 folks, nearly 200 people came in over the course of three hours.

It was great seeing old friends and connecting with a lot of folks that I don’t really get to spend a lot of time with while I’m on site at Affiliate Summit.

I’ve been on the road since the beginning of September and have successfully managed to avoid the Con Crud from multiple events and have also bypassed three family-wide sicknesses.  (I chock it up to not eating meat and my love of good wine.)

Unfortunately, while in NY this past week for The World Series, Ad-Tech and Audience Conference, I picked up the germ that would officially knock me out of commission for what the doctor says is “until such time that I deem you healthy enough to kill yourself again.”

So, I’m supposed to be going on the Social Fresh Cruise this Thursday out of Miami and there’s just no way I’m going to be able to make it. On top of that, I’ve paid the extra up-charge to be in a cabin by myself because I don’t like sharing. Period. (Those that know me well, can attest to my obsession over germs.)

I can’t get a refund, but my bad news is hopefully, someone’s good news.

If you would like to go in my place it will cost you only $50 bucks for a name change and you will be required to do a guest post on my blog recapping the event.

The ship is the Carnival Destiny and it’s a 4-night Western Caribbean jaunt leaving out of Miami on November 12th. It’s going to be an awesome event filled with lots of cool people that I’d much rather hang out with than be at home sick by myself.

If you want to go, be the first person to let me know by commenting on this blog and I will put you in touch with the folks at Social Fresh to make the change.

It’s important to note that YOU WILL NEED A PASSPORT.

So, if you don’t have a passport; can’t get yourself to/from Miami; can’t pay the $50 change fee or won’t do the guest post recapping the event, please don’t say you can make it. (I’m sick, tired and cranky and the last thing I want is to mess around, especially when I’m trying to be nice.)

A few days have passed since IZEAFest and I’ve had the pleasure of conversing with the new friends and business associates that I met there via Facebook, on Twitter, via email, on the phone, etc.

The face-to-face networking that takes place at events such as IZEAFest is truly the springboard to the “virtual conversations” that continue on, post conference.

The unfortunate part about conferences is that eventually, they come to an end and somehow you just don’t get to talk to everyone you set out to meet.

In the last two days, I’ve heard from a couple of people who told me that they didn’t come up to me to say hi at IZEAFest because they always saw me talking to someone and they didn’t want to interrupt; or when I was alone and checking my email, they didn’t want to be a bother.

Please.. bother me!

I love meeting new people. I enjoy finding out about what you do and how I can help you grow your business.

I want you to be more than a Twitter avatar to me.

So Ad:tech NY is now over and a new day is dawning in America. Although I prefer not to shove my political beliefs down other people’s throats, I would like to take a moment to say that I am utterly thrilled at the way things turned out. America, you look good in Blue today!

I’m still in NYC and am looking forward to the Mashable event this evening featuring Gary Vaynerchuk. Gary’s sure to shake things up a bit and it will be a great send off for me as I head to Aruba on vacation tomorrow morning.

I’m a beach girl and I’m really looking forward to spending time walking on the coastline, hitting the water, fishing and enjoying the beautiful Aruba sunsets. These are the things that make me — well, me.

So while I head off to go be me, I’m not planning on forgetting you. After all, you’re all part of me as well. So, how about I bring you back a gift from Aruba?

Now, none of this would be overwhelming if it wasn’t for the fact that I will be trapped behind my booth (that’s #919) all day long, spending hours upon hours on my feet.

But given the fact that I’m not afraid of commitment (just ask my ex-hubby’s), I intend to fulfill all of my good-guest obligations and make it to everything I said “yes” to. After all, they were all kind enough to invite me, eh?

And let’s talk about that booth.

Affiliate Summit will be exhibiting at Booth 919 (in case you missed my previous plug). My fellow co-founder, Shawn Collins did a quick video on the stuff that will be going on at our booth, after checking with me late last night.

He apparently had some difficulties during the production, so I’m here to help out. Here are a list of items that we will not be giving away at our booth: pens, pencils, highlighers, stress balls, lint rollers (we already gave those away once before), paper holders that resemble roach clips, cups, mugs, sticky notes, pads of paper, gum, mints, clothing apparel, calculators, computer accessories, tools, or anything related to these items.

We will be giving out copies of the last FeedFront issues and something very special. In order to get the something special, you must use the secret phrase, “I Voted”.

So hope to see you in NYC and feel free to drop off as many cups of Starbucks (located downstairs in the Hilton Lobby) at my booth (#919)
