I was reminded of Leo today, when I read about the disclosure changes that Ted Murphy of Izea implemented to Social Spark yesterday.

Ted reminds me a lot of Leo. Not only does he take pride in his businesses and does nutty things to promote his brand, but he also clearly has a passion for sandwiches.

Introducing The SocialSpark Sandwich

The SocialSpark Sandwich was used to demonstrate the new Disclosure changes that Ted implemented, which now mandates participating Bloggers to include a new Disclosure Text Message along with the previously required Disclosure Badge, as shown below.

I think it’s a great move on his part to implement the additional requirements given the need for transparency and the recent FTC changes in Disclosure requirements.

To find out more information on the new SocialSpark Disclosure Requirements, please visit http://izea.com/disclosure-socialspark-today/.

********************

As I’ve previously disclosed on my blog, I do sit on the Advisory Board for Izea, . That being said, the above opinions are mine.

When Ashley of Izea asked me to do a segment on blogging with Ted Murphy, on The Daily Buzz, I immediately said yes.

Given the fact that the last time I was on TV, I was opening up a "Snake Can" on Wonderama (yeah, I know -- I just totally dated myself), I figured this would be a good way for my parents to get a better understanding of what I do for a living.

Mike and Irene (my parents) definitely have a difficult time wrapping their arms around internet marketing. So, it's been an ongoing exercise in frustration for me to explain to them that just because I didn't become that CPA, Doctor or Lawyer that they wished for, that it's OK.

One of the selfish reasons why I was thrilled that my business partner, Shawn Collins and I launched FeedFront Magazine last year was that I knew I could now send something to my parents that was tangible -- something they could touch and feel and most importantly, show their friends.

I was right, in classic Mike and Irene fashion, they called me the day they received their very first issue. The voicemail went something like this… “Missy, we are so proud of you. We love your magazine and read it cover to cover. Even though we don’t understand half of what this stuff is saying, we can’t wait to show our friends tomorrow during breakfast. By the way, did you know you had four typos in this issue?”

So Mom and Dad — this is for you. Although The Daily Buzz is national, it’s not in New Jersey so I didn’t bother telling you about it.

Watch it and go kvell.

PS — I love you both

It is that moment in time where you become aware that a catalyst has been unleashed. Your company, that you’ve put your heart and soul in, is about to transform.

And, you know exactly what’s in store for you.

I know this phenomenon very well as I’ve had the good fortune of working for a few startups that have undergone this curiosity. I’ve also witnessed it in my own company.

In many cases, it was a singular event that sparked the metamorphosis – a tipping point, if you will.

To be a part of the aftermath is extraordinary.

This is how I felt during the Izea Advisory Board meeting this past weekend.

Ted Murphy, CEO of Izea has assembled a powerhouse of a board, including Michael Brito, Chris Brogan, Brian Clark, Jim Kukral, Neil Patel, Wendy Piersall and Jeremy Schoemaker.

One could almost feel the energy in the Izea Conference Room from the collective brainpower behind the barrage of ideas being hurled at Ted. I am humbled to be part of such a great team and hope that my contribution vis-à-vis affiliate marketing proves beneficial.

Getting a thorough understanding of where Ted wants to take SocialSpark.com was exciting. It is evident that they are at the threshold of being unstoppable when it comes to monetizing social media.

Their recent Kmart campaign is proof-positive that SocialSpark’s online marketplace can clearly connect advertisers with bloggers and create buzz. I’m looking forward to the other great brands that are being brought on board.

If you haven’t checked out SocialSpark.com, now is the time to take notice as they are undoubtedly onto something extraordinary.

Here are some pictures of the Izea Advisory Board Meeting and Dinner which was at Taverna Opa – the place to go to in Orlando for Greek food and fun.

And really… what is Ted Murphy, if not fun?
